Biography: Stevie Ray Vaughan was a highly influential electric guitarists and blues musician. He bridged the gap between blues and rock, and was one of the foremost figures in the blues resurgence of the 1980s.
His music has roots in blues, rock, and jazz. His style is known for its loud volume, heavy strings, use of tremolo picking and vibrato, and his Fender Stratocasters guitars.
Vaughan was the first white musician to receive both Entertainer of the Year and Blues Instrumentalist of the Year by the National Blues Foundation. He also earned six Grammy Awards and ten Austin Music Awards, he was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2014.
