First Burns Night

1802 First celebration of Burns Night, in honor of poet Robert Burns's birthday by The Mother Club in Greenock (later realized his actual birthday 25th January)

1948 Hugh Martin's musical comedy "Look Ma, I'm Dancin'" starring Nancy Walker and choreographed by Jerome Robbins, opens at Adelphi Theater, NYC; runs for 188 performances
