Biography: The youngest of the 10 Jackson children, Janet began performing with her siblings from the age of 7, and was part of the short-lived television variety show "The Jacksons" (1976-77).

In the early 1980s, she acted in television shows, including "Good Times", "Diff'rent Strokes", and "Fame". Musically, she split from her family to record her successful album "Control" in 1986.

Known for her mix of musical styles including funk, rhythm and blues and disco and her choreography and videos, Jackson is one of the best ever selling female artists, with over 100 million units sold worldwide. Her biggest selling album was "Janet" (1993).

She achieved notoriety in 2004 during a "wardrobe malfunction" during a Super Bowl performance with Justin Timberlake.
